Museum de Cruquius

General information

To keep the water out or the low lands there were windmills. Then the steam engine was developed and put to use to do this wet function. Cruguius was just that, a large and rather unusual array or water pumps designed to keep the 'polders' dry. Here you can see the restored pumps and learn more about the district's use or them.
