Historisch Museum den Briel

General information

Part or the history or the Netherlands and the first major defeat or the Spanish are all told here in Brielle. It centers about the Dutch hero Maarten Tromp. Although the museum has little personal items or Maarten, it does give you a good historic account or the defense and the subsequent resistance or the Dutch to the Spanish. The defeat happened on April 1 (hence 1572).
